How to Make Chicken Cutlets Indian Style?

Welcome to Masala Courtyard, where we invite you to embark on an extraordinary culinary journey through the heart of India. Indian cuisine is a celebration of diversity, a symphony of flavors, and an art form in its own right. And at the heart of this culinary marvel are the masalas those carefully blended combinations of spices and herbs that define the essence of Indian cooking. These masalas, each with its unique blend, tell a story of heritage, regional influences, and culinary wisdom that has evolved over centuries.

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken breasts, boiled and shredded
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, minced garlic, grated ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix everything together until well combined.
  2. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a cutlet. You can shape them into round or oval patties.
  3. Dip each cutlet into the beaten egg mixture, ensuring it's coated evenly.
  4. Roll the cutlets in breadcrumbs until they are completely coated.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the cutlets into the pan. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides. Make sure to flip them halfway through cooking to ensure even frying.
  7. Once cooked, remove the cutlets from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  8. Serve the chicken cutlets hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.

These chicken cutlets make for a delicious snack or appetizer and are sure to be a hit at any gathering or as a tasty evening snack with tea. Enjoy your Indian-style chicken cutlets!
